Fieldschool 2009 (June 22nd to July 18th)
Introduction
The 2009 fieldschool ran for the middle four weeks of a six week season, and once again an international group of students was assembled. Twenty students were accepted this year, reflecting the increased demand for places compared to 2008. As in the previous season, the majority of students came from the University of California, Santa Barbara, but three Irish universities (Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and National University of Ireland, Galway) and other international students completed the team. The fieldschool was coordinated by Dr. Jo Day (NUIG), assisted by the numerous PP staff and specialists who gave generously of their time, in particular Will Megarry and Danny McAree. Thanks to the Dept. of Classics, TCD for the financial aid enabling their students to participate.
