Trench II targeted in 2010, all key areas completed.
PP 2011
Following six successful excavation seasons, our team will now be focussing on sharing our results through systematic publication. We have long been fortunate to have the support of the local Greek archaeological authorities and the Instiute of Aegean Prehistory and are happy that both bodies are offering their continued help in publishing our results. We will be working in Crete from June 13th until July 23rd this year, and as always are happy to welcome visitors by prior arrangement.

Reports
In the features section to the right and also on our reports page, you can find out details about our work in previous seasons and that of our colleagues.
                                             Funding

We have been lucky throughout this project to receive generous financial support from the Institute for Aegean Prehistory, the Loeb Classical Library and the IIHSA. This year, we have also reveived support from the Mediterranean Archaeolgoical Trust for publication of EM I strata. Please see our sponsors page for further details.

In 2010 we also benefited from the generosity of friends and colleagues through sponsorship in Barry Molloy's Athens Classic Marathon race, celebrating 2500 years since the Battle of Marathon itself. In the current financial climate, the project needs a substantial financial injection to share our findings through a full and profesional publication. We ask those who believe in the worth of our project to consider becoming a sponsor or patron so that we can see the project through to break new ground in our publication program. Our first requirement is seed-funding to allow the ground-work to be laid to apply for large international funding, as well as smaller academic and private sources that have been our life-blood so far.

Please visit our sponsors page and feel welcome to get involved in creating the future of Ireland's biggest international archaeologcial project.

Istron Olympics
Work hard and play hard / all work and no play... whichever note you choose to take, we always have a fun and healthy recreation aspect to the project outside of our (long!) working hours. This includes quality beach time, exploring neighbouring archaeological sites, playing table tennis / ping pong, pool, karaoke, and the now famous Istron Olympics. On the weekend of Week 3, a multi-event tournament was held between with eight teams. With some exciting thrills and many many spills, a great time was had and you can get some glimpses of this on our Facebook page!
                                                                Friends of PP

Co-Director Barry Molloy celebrated the 2,500 anniversary of the original marathon race on October 31st 2010, and we were very grateful for the wonderful support shown by our friends. Visit our marathon page to see how Barry did!!

We are in continued need of support, and presently have two strands that you can help with. The first is assistance for scientific analyses of materials from the site. The second if Seed-Funding to "help us to help ourselves" and compile applications for fundign from private and government bodies. Donations can be tax-deductible if required (email Barry for further details).

Field School
The fieldschool at Priniatikos Pyrgos in 2010 welcomed new students from University College Dublin, University of California at Santa Barbara, Trinity College Dublin and McMasters Univeristy, Hamilton. See our field school page for further details. This was the last of our excavation fieldschools, but students interested in learning about post-excavation and museum studies are welcome to apply to work with us on our study season in 2011.
                                           Outreach
We warmly welcome visitors to the site and have had the pleasure of hosting the Irish Ambassador to Greece, amongst other distinguished guests. If you would like a tour of the site or to visit us during our post-excavation seasons to view our findings, please get in contact with Barry.

The IIHSA will have hold an annual meeting in mid to late October in Dublin and Barry will make a presentation on the findings from PP 2010, along with future prospectives for the project.
